OUR STORY

Palmyra — known in Arabic as Tadmor — has been a crossroads of civilizations for over three millennia. Its ancient ruins, once one of the most extraordinary archaeological sites in the world, drew visitors from across the globe. The wars of the past decade brought destruction to those ruins — and immeasurable suffering to the people who had always called this place home. But the women of Palmyra did not leave. They stayed, they survived, and they carried their knowledge of craft with them. Nool al-Badia was founded to give those skills an economic future.

Nool al-Badia delivers impact across multiple levels:

Economic Impact:Women earn income, strengthen household stability, and contribute to local economic activity.

Social Impact:The cooperative provides a safe, structured environment where women connect, support oneanother, and rebuild confidence.
